IHRC Critiques International Order After UN Resolution
Genocide Memorial Day is intended to affirm that there should be no hierarchy of genocides: every crime against humanity, whether historical or contemporary, deserves equal remembrance, recognition and accountability.
Summary
IHRC said it will hold its eighteenth Annual Genocide Memorial Day on 17 January 2027 in London and that the event will address perceived failures of the international order; IHRC said the UN General Assembly adopted a 25 March 2026 resolution recognising the transatlantic slave trade as “the gravest crime against humanity.”
